Welcome to my photoblog. My name is Wim Bollen, I'm 33 years old and living in the beautiful town of Antwerp which is located in the northern part of Belgium. I have a background in IT, in which I'm specialised in the administration and maintance of UNIX-based systems. I'm currently working for a well-known international telecom company. This blog has been running since 2005, except for periods when health problems intervened posting. I try to post three times a week at best (as long as work permits) so check in often.

As seen from the archives, my favourite style is urban/street photography. Whenever I have the time, you can find me with a camera or two roaming the streets of Antwerp. I prefer the desolate, non-public areas since I'm not coping well in the vicinity of large groups (read: I'm somewhat shy). I also post on an (ir)regular basis on Flickr and Shadowness7.

I only work with film, but have posted some digital early on. I love working with various types and formats but mainly stick to Ilford for black & white and fuji-related for color. I also like working with expired film.

It's not directly noticable but all my photography is protected with a creative commons license so I advise you not to use/reproduce them without my permission.

I hardly ever do post-processing because the results always ended like a shitload of crap. There's enough material on this blog that suggests there is a hell for the badly manipulated. I only use Gimp for the occasional contrast adjustment and crop.

Besides behaving like a Japanese tourist (no pun intended), music plays a large part in my life and each photograph is named after a song by a band or artist I really like or what is currently on the playlist.
